Classic Cycle Ride:

The 1st Alsager Classic Cycle Ride takes place on Sunday 1st September 2024.
All are welcome, whatever the age of your bike, but for those on eligible bikes there will be a judging to determine the best (and best dressed rider). Routes will start and finish at the Wilbraham Arms where refreshments will be available all day!
If you have a bike more than 30 years old and fancy getting it out for a ride then please email us at alsagerharlequinscc@gmail.com to register your interest.
If you just want to bring along your classic bike but not ride then that’s ok as well.
Meeting at The Wilbraham Arms between 8:30 and 8:45
Judging from of bikes and dress 9:00 to 9:30.
Rides start at 9:30.
Prize Presentations at 11:30.
Rules:
Eligible Bikes will have been built in 1994 or earlier. They could be race bikes, touring bikes, mountain bikes, tricycles, Shopper, Choppers, Penny Farthings or anything else as long as it’s human pedal- powered.
Most eligible bikes will have a steel frame with shift levers on the down tube and brake cables that pass outside and over the handlebars.
Pedals should be with toe clips and straps; modern quick release or clip-less pedals are not allowed.
Your choice of clothing and accessories, such as shoes, hats and water bottles. should be appropriate to the age of your bike.
However, during the bike ride we ask that everyone wears a helmet for safety purposes.
The most important thing is to enter into the spirit of the occasion and celebrate cycling in all its glory. We’ll never be too precious about yours or your bike’s appearance as long as it’s within the spirit of the occasion.
See you there!
PLEASE REMEMBER TO WEAR A HELMET... this is a requirement!
